Coffee Talk: Add Vanilla

You’ve heard of a vanilla latte, but have you ever put vanilla flavouring in your instant coffee?

I’m probably late to this trend, but I put vanilla extract in my instant coffee last week and it was absolutely delicious and now I’m hooked. If you haven’t tried this already, you must give it a go.

This has been my go-to recipe for adding a vanilla twist to my regular cup of coffee. It’s pretty affordable since there’s no expensive syrups or expensive capsules required. Anyone can achieve this scrumptious bev with a few simple ingredients. You can use whatever coffee you’ve got at home.

Method:

  1. Add 1 (heaped) teaspoon of instant ground coffee to your coffee mug.

  2. Add milk of your choice to reach desired colour. I’ve been enjoying coffee mate (powdered milk creamer) in my coffees recently. If you’re interested in trying this, I usually put in 4x as much coffee mate as I do coffee.

  3. Add your boiled water.

  4. Stir in a teaspoon of vanilla extract. NOTE: I used imitation vanilla. This is not as strong as vanilla extract and I’m a big vanilla fan so I put in about two teaspoons or so of imitation vanilla. Don’t be this heavy handed when dealing with the strong stuff though.

There you go, a cheap and delish vanilla flavoured coffee. Scrumptious.

Much love,

The Blazer Chronicles.
